Adult Cleaning & Exam
Proper oral hygiene is the absolute best way to keep your smile bright and healthy. One important component of your oral hygiene care is regular visits to your dentist.
Your hygiene visit (or dental cleaning) at Hooper Dentistry will be comfortable, easy and pain-free. Your visit will include the following:
- Review of your medical and dental health history so that we can understand your unique background.
- The hygienist will discuss any problems or issues you may be experiencing. General questions are completely welcome at this time as well.
- If this is your first time, Dr. Hooper will introduce himself, and discuss the goals that you have for your smile and oral health. Dr. Hooper will also complete an initial exam to assess the overall health of your gums and teeth. Digital x-rays may be taken at this time as well.
- The hygienist will then begin your dental cleaning which includes an assessment of your gum health, plaque removal on the teeth and around the gums, teeth flossing and polishing of the teeth.
To ensure the health of your teeth and gums, and to prevent cavities and gum disease (which is tied to heart disease), you should schedule dental cleanings every 6 months.
